That's Koreshan to you and me

Well we are on our 2nd nite at the Koreshan State Park in Estero, Fl. After leaving the singing blue hairs at Whisper Creek, we headed to Lehigh Acres in our shorts and flip flops to bike around. It has been beautiful the last 2 days, hot and sunny. Yesterday, we called Koreshan State Park to find out if they had any campsites and they had 5 but could not hold them for us so we made a beeline for Koreshan. When we got here about 3ish, I met with the female Barney Fife who I call Barnita. She is very firm about the rules here. When I asked if we could have the site for more than one nite, this really threw her. I know I went a little overboard but after she recovered, she told me to come back at 8 this morning to check if we could stay another nite. I was at the office at 8 and when I asked her if she knew if we could stay another nite, she responded with "how should I know, its too early to tell." I was afraid to question her about why she told me to come in at 8 so I asked her when she might know and I smiled really big. She told me to come back at 10 so we hiked back up there and we were in luck, we could get it another nite but we would have to move to another site. Not sure why, they are basically all the same but again, I did not want to question her and have her go thru all the rules again. When I asked if we could stay until Saturday, she told me she had absolutely no idea, and we have to repeat the whole procedure again tomorrow.

There are a lot of campers at this park, very popular and it is named for some guy named Koreshan who started a cult, they still have some of the old buildings here. The followers died out pretty quickly tho since the adults were required to be celibate. I don't think this Koreshan guy was the sharpest knife in the drawer.

We are enjoying the warm weather and exploring this side of Florida. Not sure where we'll end up after Barnita gets done with us. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and lots of love and puppy kisses.
